Networking

PLAnet

(People, Land and Agrarian reform in Northern Ecological Territory)

 

     CDA takes initiative to build up networking of like-minded local NGOs from northern part of Bangladesh. This is the alliance of voluntary organizations that are engaged and continuing their struggle with the millions of landless people in this region to empower, to have the access, to ensure sustainable land use, to release from hunger, to ensure agriculture, education, cultural development including the village reconstruction as well.

      Currently the environment, ecology and the nature is under threat. The natural resources and the people, other animals and the biodiversity are destroying, deteriorating of fertility of soil created the barrier of production system and productivity are affecting. PLAnet is trying to tackle the issues of Land Right and Agrarian Reform as well as preserving environment in the region.

Mission:

Building Social Capital

(Reformation, Reconstruction and Social change through building social capital)

 

Goal:

Social Solidarity (Building unity among the likeminded NGOs and an alternative development structure of the  poor people)

 

Working Area:

 

500 villages under the 16 districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur Division of Bangladesh

 

Target People:

  • Landless
  • Landless Agricultural labor
  • Women
  • Adivashi / Any Oppressed people of Northern area/ Anthropological / Ethnic Community
  • Exploited and oppressed people 

 

Main Activities:

 

1. Monthly Coordination Meeting

 

2. Analyzing problems from the Northern District

 

3. Memorandum submission to the Prime Ministers, MPs, and District & Upazilla 

    Authorities

 

4. Negotiation with Civil Society 

 

5. Participation in different seminars, social forum, press conference and policy

    mobilization

 

6. Conduct seminar and workshop with Academians and civil society's officials

7. Development communication and materials such as poster, leaflet, memorandum,

    brochure etc...
